I had a tendency to add a "y" sound to everything - from nicknames to expressions, it just felt natural. After one of my teammates hit a home run, I found it more fun and playful to call it a "bombski" vs. the more familiar term - "bomb."

I first used the word while reading highlights in local TV. I was just trying to have fun (like I did when I was playing) and to give the audience a taste of my personality. As my career in broadcasting baseball grew, so did the word.
